DANÚ’s Test and Measurement (or Assurance) solutions have been installed in telecom operators across the globe, including Telefonica, Telstra, TeliaSonera, Eircom, Portugal Telecom, TDC Denmark, MGTS Russia, Hong Kong Telecom and ETB Columbia.

 

The Line Test System (LTS) provides the telecom operator with a powerful facility to measure and record the quality of the PSTN/ISDN copper connection from network to end user premises, including xDSL prequalification.

 

Measurement results may trigger an alarm and/or may be post processed enabling the network provider to quickly identify and rectify possible line faults throughout its entire access network.

 

Tests may be ordered manually on-demand for fault localisation purposes. The access network may also be tested automatically according to preset schedules as part of routine preventative maintenance programs.

 

The Network Evaluation and Test (NEAT) product evaluates the health of a network and its components through generating test calls, and making an end to end quality assessment of the network as perceived by the end user across any or all network domains. It verifies the correctness of the network infrastructure – routing, switching and transmission and billing.  Amongst others, NEAT measures call completion probabilities, network delays (call setup, teardown, propagation, etc.), signalling verification, metering and billing, echoes, noise.  It helps the operator meet regulatory requirements and prove that these requirements being met.  

 

The solution comprises distributed test call generators and one or more test centres depending on the size and structure of the operator.  Solutions currently exist for both fixed (PSTN/ISDN) and mobile (GSM) networks.
